The Studio

Studios…where so much of the creation happens. I have had some great studios over the last 10 years since I graduated from RISD. Right at this very moment I am celebrating four years in my San Francisco studio. It is a wonderful place to spend so much time. High ceilings, diffused light, space to spread out (and less than a mile to various beaches!) I tend to take over every counter/bench top possible. Every once and a while I clean things up and the surfaces look like this: balboa st studio This particular studio has had various configurations. The image above is a shot from a couple of years ago. Below is a picture of it in early September before the day before I set up my two person exhibition Parallel Constellations with Amy Tavern (She is here in this picture. We were both finishing up the last little details before the show.) raissa bump amy tavern in balboa st studio But to give you a bit of perspective on it all, here are two pictures of my portion of the space: one before any of my stuff was moved in and one just weeks after arriving.

And a special thanks to my main companions in this adventure: Whitney dog (pictured below) and Jonathan Anzalone. And also Joseph Ferriso. Together these two guys make up Anzfer Farms with who the Balboa Street studio is shared.
